Ever since I can remember I've had a reoccuring dream O_O
I find myself in a dark place surrounded by tiny little glowing lights. Almost like fireflies except they aren't insects... they are lights. Little specks and spots of luminescence. At the same time they seem very close and very far away. When I try to touch them my fingers seem to go right through them. I keep getting the vague impression that they are trying to talk to me. But I can't understand them O_o
Even when I was little I had dreams about them. I still don't know what it means. I can't really call them nightmares but they make me feel sad in a way I can't really describe -_-

I think I have an idea of how you mean-I have dreams like that too a lot.
There's something profound and, yes, very sad about dreams like those-like you're supposed to understand something, or like you'll get an answer to a question you didn't know you had-if you could only understand.

I remember many dreams from my childhood.
My longest reoccuring dream is a twist on the classic long long falling from a way high up place. Except I never woke up before I hit the ground, I'd just hit with a thud, and then jump up thinking that was SO COOL, that I'd run all the way back up the cliff just to jump off again!

It's odd... I've had dreams too that are not nightmares per se, but that leave a strange sad feeling, or a feeling of loss, when you wake up. Most of them are about oddly "normal" things like a comic with a page that I never really get a good look at. One was about a poem - it was written on an old ceramic jar that stood in this dusty old house full of other old things. It was about a toad in a deep pond, I think, and it was the most beautiful phrasings I'd seen, but the words faded only moments after I woke up.
