Never have I been more tempted to ask about FFXIV

it's good as hell and Shadowbringers alone is in my top 3 games of all time

How far are you in the story, and what's your favorite part?

I'm current. And that's a huge question, oh boy. Just at expansions, I loved Shadowbringers and Endwalker best for different reasons each. The 5.3 patch chunk of the story in particular hits hard as hell and most of my absolute favorite trials are in those expansions too. Right now I'm also hype about Pandaemonium since we're going to get more of that imminently. My first time doing current content hot off the stove was Aglaia and it was such a blast, can't wait to get obliterated by more new things!!

You are farther than me. I just barely got into Endwalker. I need to get another subscription XD.

I'm on Coeurl, Crystal DC! It's been a huge blast, I've enjoyed every bit of it. I'm WHM main, omnicrafter, picking up tanking recently. Love helping newer folks through stuff. 🌟

WHM is good, a classic! Healing is one thing I need to get into. And tanking is fun.
And is good that you do! I am sure they will appreciate it as well!

I love healing and usually go for that in group games, but tanking is like. Brain bongo noise. Taunt boss, eat hot chip. Most people seem to prefer DPS above all, but I want to vibe, hahaha. (And idk I have a weird brain, healing is vibing for me)

Have fun doing Endwalker, it's a hell of a ride!

Healing certainly sounds fun. Yeah tanking is like that in the game.
DPS is kinda easy, is why people go for it most time (I am guilty of that xD)

Nah, he's only in FF7. Unless you are talking about actual clouds, those are in almost every game.

Honestly, I want to get back in but I left off as Shadowbringers started, and I don't think I'm in a good enough mindset emotionally to handle a heavy hitting story for some time.

I'd say that really depends, hm. I wasn't in the best of places playing it myself but found it and Endwalker to be something I needed to experience. Fiction can be a safe place to process difficult things separately from our immediate lives. But you do what's best for you - the story isn't going anywhere if it's not a good time for you right now!

I need to get back on and do 6.2 if it's out yet or prep for it if not, been a couple months for me. Maybe help Trayco in a few spots here and there.

6.2 drops this week. Tomorrow night is the patch maintenance. I'm prepping tonight, getting collectibles piled up for scrip scrip scrip!

I actually just started recently. Not a bad game, enjoying it so far. Been craving something to play and its scratching that itch nicely.

It starts out pretty alright and only gets better as you go, kind of like a roller coaster with a gradual ascent before the VROOM, haha. Enjoy your journey!

my favorite top 3, in the balance, close in the darkness, 'neath dark waters and it's lyric'd version of "to the edge".

Oh my god, there's so much good music in the game. Currently stuck on A Long Fall/eScape, In the Balance, To the Edge, Ultima (the Primals version, I love the "heart of Sabik" chanting), and Locus if I must choose five. But I'm constantly impressed with the tunes, it has some of the best soundtrack beats I've ever heard in any game.

I keep hearing about this game yet know next to nothing about it.

Where to begin without infodumping? It's an MMO without the "you have to make it your job" cronch, plays more like 5 JRPGs in a trenchcoat. Community is pretty nice too overall. Lots of different things to do and has only gotten better over time.
