Of all the things I could have come back from this recent inadvertent creative break with, I feel like a new OC that's an anthropomorphic sea slug probably wasn't something many would have expected, least of all myself. But I guess the time without the ability to create at all (more on that later) gave me enough of a "reset" to remember how much I actually really enjoy the more unusual creatures and concepts, once again knocking down a few more mental barriers built around what I thought I was supposed to do.
So, meet Nuri, a pink Dorid type Nudibranch. She's technically a subclassification of the species of my own design I'm calling "Lunibranch", which I'll cover (a lot) more in-depth in a future upload. Like others of her kind, Nuri is naturally very teeny (see left of the image), but can use an innate ability to fill herself with any volume (usually the surrounding environment of air or water) and grow to around 7ft tall, without much loss to her proportional appearance or mobility. Doing so allows her to more easily interact with average sized creatures of the world, which is usually done by offering surprise squishy slug hugs, as her species primarily communicates through emotional energy sensation via direct contact. They also consume said emotional energy to survive, but it's luckily designed to be a symbiotic relationship that's beneficial to both parties, rather than parasitic.
Nuri herself I haven't fully fleshed out just yet, but like many of her kind she's very amorous by nature, and enjoys letting the lizards and many other friends take great advantage of her natural squishiness, given as a soft-bodied sea creature she's basically a giant watery (or airy) marshmallow. Expect quite a bit of exploration of such concepts whenever I'm able :y.
Overall I'm pretty happy with how this all came out, feels a lot different than the type of creatures I usually make, both in visual proportions and concept/type. I think that may be why I'm going so hard into it though, just the fun of exploring new ideas I used to think I wouldn't really enjoy. Because honestly, she came about when I saw these little doofs one day, and the concept stuck in my head until I tried anthropomoprhizing one, and it quickly spiraled into creating an entire unique semi-alien species for the little character universe I've been building behind the scenes. Because I think I'm again realizing how much I enjoy doing things like that, and am thus going to stop arbitrarily limiting myself on that front, just because of some inexplicable ideal that I can't do that sort of thing just because I normally draw lizards and whatever else turning into silly balloons or carpets. And besides, even if all the DEEP LORE is primarily for my own enjoyment, that doesn't mean I can't let it out every now and again to see if anyone else might enjoy it as I do.

Heheh, thank m8. Honestly it feels like I'm having entirely too much fun designing the species traits, even if they're largely regular Nudibranchs with some slightly alien characteristics. But I think it more just reminds me that I have a lot more fun when I don't arbitrarily restrict myself from giving toony fetishism a deeper backstory.
