Doggust 2022 - #21, 3 WEEK SPECIAL 1/3
2019. Personal work.
No new one-off illustrations for Doggust for a few days, guys. Instead, here's something different to celebrate my having made it to the challenge's 3 week mark. This is a character design from a story project of mine that's currently in stasis but that started life several years ago as a comic. It's been partially illustrated with about 10 out of 60something pages made. Too bad its all hideous. It's a story I wanna tell, but without more polished writing and stable art direction, it'll have to stay dead on its feet. 'Sides, I have more important things that I SHOULD be doing with my time. Maybe someday it'll become something more. We can always hope.
NOT concept art training this time, just concept art! Head is referenced from an original digital sculpt, body is all drawn from scratch. lol when ur a fuckin puby

This post is directly calling me out wahh. Amazing how similar illustrator experiences can be LOL. I also have a pet project that's years in the making, but horribly flawed and in need of so much repair and polish. But alas, now I have multiple self-inflicted "makes money" art tasks and a pile of "develop your damn portfolio" art tasks that have put that story far far down on the list of priorities. I wish you the best in hopefully, eventually having the time to tell this story!
