This is the original advert for Snake The Rat. He was the first full-partial suit I ever made.
Here's His Character Art
Here's an Original Draw-Over of His Foam Base
Here's Some Progress Photos of His Head
Snake used to be called "Radical Rat." His foam base was started back in 2017 and finished in 2018.
I started his furring process back in 2018 also, but then put him into storage.
I put down fursuit making for a year due to studying abroad, but picked it back up my final year of college.
This suit went from being "Radical" to "Snake" when I realized that he didn't look enough like a rat, so he became a snake-rat hybrid and his design was fleshed out from there.
I had serious financial issues my last year of college and selling Snake paid for about 2.5 months worth of my rent. I was over the moon when he sold.
The summer before my final year of college, I worked really hard on making paws. Idk why I became so fixated on the process, but it lead me to develop the pattern you see for Snake's hands in this image. And later on Snake's hands contributed to what my Rodent-Style paws look like currently.
Snake was not the first fursuit where I used fleece, but he was first for tattoos. I painted these tats in acrylics rather than the textile paints I currently use.
I did not have an airbrush at the time, so everything on snake is hand-painted.
Before I even painted Snake, he was entered into the 2019 Ohio State fair under a miscellaneous category and won first place. I'd like to enter another, much more advanced costume to the fair again one day.
Snake still belongs to the same person who purchased him originally. I do not frequently see social media posts of him.
