Here we have Fox and Link playing basketball on a open field, as you notice, the tree on the left, has a branch with a hole in shape of a "basket" just like in basketball the basket should look like. You can even see that Fox and Link are using bracelets on both hands and feet, each two with different colors, to represent that they're in 1 to 1 match.
Now, for the story:
After the meeting of these two, the next day, Fox and Link go out of the forest for some fresh air on an open field, while the two walk, Link invites Fox to play as soon as he sees the tree with the hole branch he created to play his favorite game he customized.
Link: Say, Fox, would you like to play basketball?
Fox: Sounds good, but...what it's baskeball?
Link: I'll explain you when we get start!
As the two prepare for the play, Link gives Fox bracelets for his hands and feet.
Link: Here. *Gives the bracelets*
Fox: What are these?
Link: It's called: "bracelets", I use it every time I go to play basketball, since I'm going to play with you, I want you become my opponent, therefore, I give these ones of alternate color, representing that you and I are opponents, get it?
Fox: Okay, since I never got an opponent on a game as far as I remember, this will be my first time, I'll do my best to be a good opponent for you.
Link: Good then, let's begin!
After getting ready, the two position themselves to the field, and Link proceeds to instruct Fox how to play while giving him the ball of the game. Then the game starts, after some time of running and catching and stealing the ball, Fox quickly takes the ball, runs toward the goal, jumps and inserts the ball right into it!
Link: Wow! You did it!
Fox: Yeah! I did it, never knew I would be so good in this game!
Link: I say, I found the perfect opponent for this game, since other animal friends I meet couldn't be able to surpass me so far, it seems you're the only one in this forest!
Fox: Really?...Well, that's something weird, I thought the birds would do it easily since they can fly.
Link: I also though of that, but anyway, good shot, you want to keep on playing?
Fox: Sure thing! Let's keep playing!
And so, the two continue playing until finally getting tired, while that, we can see that the two are like good opponents each other for any game they can play.
