2019. Personal work.
I've had a love/hate relationship with canine comics posted to sites like dA for years. The main thing that annoys me about them is that so few of them take advantage of their protagonists being animals. It's the furry thing all over again; an animal is used because its creator thinks its cool, but almost never to take advantage of how animals and their "societies", emotions, and physiological needs are distinct from our own. I think this is what makes any given talking animal story either more widely appreciated or another boring slog where I start grumbling "Why the fuck didn't they just make the characters people?" bah humbug no fun allowed get offa my lawn etc
NOT concept art training this time, just concept art! Head is referenced from an original digital sculpt, body is all drawn from scratch. im tired
