Production Status and Description
The Rogriss was designed shortly before the Infinitos Invasion by Liberty Armaments to replace their incredibly outdated Friar-class Cruiser. It's purpose was to act as a light, multirole vessel for their interests which often involved light yet quick fleet protection aswell as transport and providing a Surgical Strike platform. The ship is fast and cheap, making it a very well mass-produced ship by the time of LAs fracturing during their independent war. At the time of the fall of Liberty Armaments, the Rogriss made up 70% of their fleets with the rest being Friars, Goliath and various other ships.
The Rogriss was never meant to act as a Frontline vessel. It is armed enough to defend itself but not armored enough to withstand fire from more military oriented vessels. This however did not stop the Freestates Coalition from reinforcing their fleets with millions of these vessels. Despite its light design, it comes equipped with a powerful bombbay which is designed to deploy nuclear ordinance from orbit to the surface of planets in quick and effective surgical strikes. With this, a Rogriss, even a single one, is still feared ore then most other vessels in a blockade as all it takes is one bomb to reduce a unshielded base or even city to rubble.
There are modified, civilian accessible versions that have the bombbay removed for obvious reasons.
Design Inspiration:
You know the hanging hooks for pens and mechanical pencils? It broke off one day for one of my pens- didn't even use much energy. Just touch *SNAP*. Anyway I looked at that and I got the inspiration to draw the Rogriss. Name inspiration was from Teren Rogriss from Star Wars Legends. Rogriss was a fucking badass, pardon my french, and was one of the more respectable Imperials through the years after the Galactic Civil War. In Alliance Timeline, his descendents actually helped create Liberty Armaments so they owe alot to his legacy.
Setting Usage:
If looking to add Liberty Armaments Presence to your setting, the Rogriss is a great way to subtly have them around. Even in medieval settings and tribal as the Rogriss can mask their signature and are great at staying out of sight since their engines produce little noise. To most, they would be a decent fight as they have a large array of light weaponry so in a battle with a few fighters it'd actually be a challenge to defeat it. Think of the same fear the Lancer Frigate gave X-Wing pilots. They are quite dime-a-dozen aswell and don't require a massive crew. Often only around 30. Without the bombbay, they make excellent ships for Many people and can be quite modular.
