Some of you may know that feeling.
Whether you're hunting, fishing or just stumbled upon a huge collection of your favourite berries in the wild.
That feeling.
The excited feeling of success, the primal instrinct of victory.
The feeling that can even make cats smile.
That feeling.

And that's exactly what this little ness is feeling now. After having tumbled around in the shallow water she finally caught her favourite prey, a rainbow trout. With seagrass and kelp still sticking to her scales and fins, her eyes glowing and her chest heaving with exhausted but excited breath she stood there, slowly wiggling the fish with her teeth and tongue. It was hers, and only hers! She had been a good girl for managing to catch such an elusive prey, and this was her reward. She didn't even think about it, but her chest rumbled with a purr so deep that it made rings on the water around her.

It was the best feeling in the world.

If anyone wants to take the fish's place, I'm all ears.
