"How long has he been lying here?" Sonic finally asked with a nervous grin, having managed to tear his gaze away from the black puddle that looked like ink spilling over the grass.
"I called you as soon as I saw him," the fox still answered excitedly, taking a step forward, but the doctor stopped him with an eloquent gesture, without turning around, and continued to examine the sudden patient.
"Is it... Blood?" it was heard behind the doctor. There was obvious concern in Amy's voice. The black spot around the guest was so big - you absolutely would not want to believe that it was all blood.
The answer came immediately:
"Apparently," Doc said shortly and got up from the ground. "We need to get him to the hospital."

The friends who remained in the corridor only exchanged puzzled glances. There were a lot of questions, and it did not help at all to decide what to do next. The sound of the door opening made them jump in surprise.
"Shadow is fine, but really weak. I don't know how long it will take for him to recover."
"Good," - Sonic breathed out with relief. Despite the general misunderstanding of what had happened, all three of them smiled awkwardly.
"But he can't stay here," the doctor said firmly and categorically, ignoring the questioning looks, and explained: "I can't give him any more help. I have enough patients as it is, I don't want them to become even more."
Doc had heard enough about the character of the hedgehog and was not at all eager to get to know him better.
"I understand," after a short thought, Sonic nodded.

"Rouge is too far away now. She is an amazingly responsible employee," the guy said, wearily plopping down on the ground next to his friend. Several hours have passed since the conversation in the hospital corridor, but there was no new shelter for the wounded man - he was never famous for a large number of friends.
"I don't think Shadow wants to live with you." You never got along," after a moment's thought, Tails frowned, as if making a questionable choice.
"I have a place in the workshop. We can't leave him like this, can we?
