Miyuki Mochizuki: Cougar kunoichi, and "princess" of the Kukishin Village
Shinji Sasaki: Human-turned-swallow outcast, and the last of the once proud Sasaki Clan
Although Shinji was not born of this village, it was where he was raised after losing his parents; an event which which he cannot remember. He became friends with Miyuki from childhood, but it soon became something more. As the years went by, the two slowly fell in love. The two hoped that they would always be together, but fate had other plans.
Miyuki's father, the Kukishin Village's chief promised her to another, the son of the leader of a rival clan. Realizing they they could not be together, Shinji became cold and distant, while Miyuki's love for him still burned. But things weren't the same now that they were young adults. Shinji didn't even notice that Miyuki saw him off when he went to compete in Zhang's tournament to complete his greatest mission yet: the assassination of Shenlong Zhang.
Soon, word came to the chief that Shinji not only failed his mission, but was not returning to the village. The leaders were left with no choice but to brand him with the title of "Rogue Ninja", and thus, making him a man marked for death. Miyuki was devestated to hear this, but when her father said that she, as the clan's top assassin, must be the one to kill him, it broke her heart even more.
Miyuki was left with a difficult choice. Would she disobey her father, thus dishonoring herself and her clan, marking herself for death? Or would she kill the man she loves, and lose her happiness forever? She has chosen neither. Her goal is to bring Shinji back to the village and pray for forgiveness. But until Shinji defeats his rival Kentaro, he will not go back willingly.
Miyuki does not want this story to end tragically. What will she do?
