Meine gefesselten Lieblingfüchse 5: Honest John
Next fox on our list is Honest John from Disney´s second animated movie Pinocchio. His facial expression shows, that his sinister dealings with the dark coachman has finally come to the attention of the police. As shown in the film, where John grabs at his throat, as he mentioned the police, greatly afraid, I allways had the impression that their crime probably would have led to their hanging.

Yeah. Also not going to lie, sounds a bit harsh because last I know from the limited information, Br'er Fox is basically the equivalent of Tom Cat from Tom & Jerry.
That's like trying to hang Dr. Robotnik/Eggman for the more intentionally deadly traps found on his trap island where he intentionally kidnapped Sonic, Mighty, and Ray and trust me, the traps on that island require speed and stamina.
The trap island in particular is from the Arcade Game known as "SegaSonic The Hedgehog". That was also 1992 and canonically (I think) takes place between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 when Sonic meets Tails.
Trying to hang the genius doctor now is harsh but also uneeded, additionally impossible because well....Dr. Robotnik/Eggman is a literal genius. He likely always has a plan in place and goofy but loyal minions that somehow fuck everything up when carrying out plans that Sonic stops, but always manage to break him out of a bad spot/confinement.

If he was liable to be facing the gallows for his crime it's unsurprising that Honest John would be so fearful here, being led along by what would effectively for him be a prelude to what he's liable to be facing. Certainly as a con artist and delighting in conning children and tricking them into slavery he's not a particularly pleasant character even if not as heinous as the Coachman. Though it might be that he's just going to be receiving a rather long prison sentence rather than the death penalty...though maybe he's not been told that yet to let him suffer a bit.
Good to see another Disney fox and midway through the series, so I'll look forward to seeing whom will come next.

Isolation and Loneliness leave you to your own imagination alot, and sometimes internal conversations with different parts of you can get....intense and overwhelming.
That's even speaking from the experience of finding both your internal light and darkness, both are vying for power and control over you, and it seems like there can only be one.
But as I've been taught by both Luffy and Naruto, I can make another solution for myself and the 2 warring forces.
That aside, internal dialogues in silence and isolation are fine, but when you punish someone by isolation....too much internal dialogue is bad. The imagination of one's self is both scary and overwhelming but it is never impossible to overcome.
I definitely agree with the 3 things you listed, all are certainly scary in their own rights, and each pull levers within the brain to start making someone break out into a cold sweat!

Originally, He and Gideon were going to show up and try to trick Pinocchio for a third time. That would've been when they were both captured by the police. I think they had to take this scene out to shorten the runtime of the movie. That or they didn't have enough money to make it.
I think that was because he didn't like the original design of Pinocchio or the original story. Lots of interesting info about this movie. It was released during World War II and ended up a box office bomb. It made a profit when re-released in 1945. They cast famous celebrities in this film to give it star power including Mel Blanc (Voice of The Looney Tunes). Mel was the voice of Gideon and recorded dialogue for him. However, they changed Gideon where he acted like Dopey from Snow White and only kept the hiccup sound made by Mel Blanc.
Keeping him gagged basically disarms him of his most effective weapon; his cunning tongue!
Your version seems slightly plumper than the Disney version, perhaps he's been well-fed after plenty of successful crimes, which is no wonder why he is so afraid he's finally been captured! Who knows, maybe Gideon is already waiting for him in the cell ~

In the german version Honest John asked Gideon, after they had seen the poster that Stromboli was in town, if he still remembered the moment, where they tried to sell Gideon as a puppet to Stromboli and how they fooled him in the process.
Then they sold Pinocchio to Stromboli and he managed to escape. Stromboli defenitly would feel double crossed again in my oppinion.
