This is a picture commissioned by
swampwulf. Here we see Rufus ‘Red’ Swampwulf asleep during class. Not a very active student, is he?
This was a challenging image to work on, but I had fun drawing it nonetheless. =)

I mostly sweat blood and tears. Especially when I try to figure out where to put light and shadow... I believe there are many talented artists out there who would like to scorn me for all the mistakes I've made. <_<
I think this light was worth the risk... And I'm very flattered that you like it! Thank you so much. ^_^

The lineart took a couple of hours to finish and a couple of hours to clean... But the colouring took a day or so in total. I color slooooowly. =P
Real glad you like this one, Stealth! The light is not very accurate, but I think that the characters came out pretty well.

There are few aspects I will nitpick <.<
The classroom wall is not aligned in the perspective and vanishingpoint of the classroom floor / tables. It seems like the class would be in a boat XD
Another point is the shadows direction of in which they are casted, thinking of the windows, just wrong direction o.o The usual diffuse of the shadows in that kind of evinroment means they blur out further they advance. ^^;
But besides a lot of technical flaws, the image looks great, colorpalette is well done and characters look lively and can be read without speechbubbles. And textile on teachers dress is pretty ^^

Now that you pointed out these things I see that you're absolutely correct. I wish I would've had someone with eye and talent to help me out while I was still in process of colouring. Oh well.
It's a bit disheartening, but I believe I can learn from my mistakes. Thank you very much for your feedback! =)

school is in winter, bears hybernate in winter, so what else would you expect a bear anthro to do?
courtesy of docwilkie, my dad.
any way, great picture i especially like the way that most of the class is laughing but three of them aren't happy bout it. and the expresion on the teacher's face!

Well lets see this is probably one of the best pieces I have seen you do to date.
Good warm colors, neat sunlight effect, good background detailing and minutae seem to be all in order. Although I don't look anything like the guy sleeping. It clearly shows how much interest that school had for me when I was that age so it gets extra points for historical accuracy.

There was a guy like that who sat in back of me in highschool... he snored VERY loudly everyday in english class... and they let him get away with it because he was the star football player.
nice scenework! Drawing a whole scene and multiple characters like that is challenging (I know from experience ^_^; )

I'm a bit surprised that you like the results this much, but of course it makes me very happy! =D
I hope you received the private message I sent you. I've been in a middle of a message storm lately and I can't seem to be able to keep track of all the notes I have and haven't yet sent.

The light is a bit screwy on more ways than one. In my country the days become short and the sun pretty much goes bye bye when the summer is over. I guess I was subconciously thinking about a late summer/autumn day when the sun here has this certain drowsy golden hue. I noted this myself when I was adding the finishing touches, but by then I had already done some irrevertable layer blending. Meh.
