He dropped to the ground to be on the same level. “Son...” He paused, taking a deep breath, looking into his foal's eyes. “I-I have done you a tremendous wrong. The large pegasus stood, extending his wings casting a shadow over Green. The tiny pony looked up in awe. “D-dad?”

“Son, our actions have consequences. Some intentional, some unintentional, some temporary, some permanent. We need to be prepared to accept responsibility for our actions. Therefore I have no choice in this matter. I shamed you by having you pinioned. I cannot undo that, but I can do this.”

The stallion reached down to a scabbard hanging on his side. A silver blade gleamed in the sun.
