A Thursday Prompt story

Prompt: primary
“You’re being very set in your ways, you know,” my Muse remarked.
I sighed and hit the mute button on the television. Boring program anyway. “I have certain tasks that should be done before others,” I said. “What’s wrong with that?”
“It does give you an anchor,” the vixen conceded, “but you know variety is the spice of life.”
“Well,” I said . . .
“When setting priorities, it’s first things first!
And my first thing to do is not the worst!
You see, it’s for coffee that I get a great thirst
And once that’s down, I can have some wurst!”
The opossum rolled her eyes. “That’s the worst bit of rhyming I’ve heard you do in a while. Besides, there’s no wurst in the house.”
“Good thing I have shopping on my list.”
“You’re weird,” the Muse huffed.
“Which results in creativity,” I reminded her.
