Bio: Kathy was once a feral dog who roamed the streets: a stray in every sense of the word. Then she accidentally stowed away and landed on the island of Mistal. There, she met Sally the donkey, an aspiring magician who had studied the college’s material and had (along with a good portion of the animals near her) gained sapience after opening a cursed book and eating it, causing a magical explosion to envelop the animals. Just being near Sally was enough to grant Kathy sapience, as the majority of the leftover magic had seeped into the donkey. As a result, Kathy became Sally’s best friend and pupil.

Now eating much healthier than before, Kathy is studying and training to be a great magician like her benefactor: taking on a second form like Sally herself to work at the college, ensuring the staff are none the wiser about their newly sapient animals.
