you're right, its not quite the same as a zebra flower longhorn beetle. In particular, its legs are disproportionately large, and the pattern is slightly off. very close tho, spiketxtyger ^^ you're in the right family of beetles. If I'm right tho, its a different subfamily.
It's definitely in the Longhorn beetle family (fancy name Cerambycidae). Have a look at the genus Clytus and the genus Neoclytus (you can just do a google image search). From what I can see, this beetle should be in one of those two categories (I think its in Neoclytus personally). But i'm not familiar enough with this group to know for sure.
The yellow stripey coloration is mimicry for self defense; many animals avoid these patterns because they're so much like bees/wasps. Its a good defense. It's also the first thing that throws people off. The second thing that throws people off is the huge legs, which make it look like a cricket or grasshopper. But it's 100% a longhorn beetle. </nerdly outburst>
neat to see a bug pic ^^ even tho its not furry

I fecking love insects. <3 And good call on the fur who said it was a longhorn beetle. o.o I'm still working on my skillz with regard to identification.
On a side note, best invertebrate ever... Pseudoscorpionidae! <3 I was playing with them for almost a week in Wales earlier this year for a project cataloguing abundances and looking for edge effects on woodland floor invertebrate species. :)
