Peepers, my green cheeked conure was feeling attentive yesterday. Mainly cause he's getting in pin feathers around his head and neck and loves it when I gently rub along his neck and face to help break up the casings. Peepers is also my safety switch, and mentality check. Being alone, He's the only one that greets me daily with a cheerful "Daddies home!" when I walk in the door. Plus he loves to eat with me, usually what I an eating, he's got to share too. Spaghetti is especially loved and oddly, fried chicken when I can swing it.
At some point I need to obtain a flight harness for him so I can take him outside to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Not about to clip his flight feathers.
Part of me still wants to obtain a companion bird to keep him company and allow mutual grooming that birds love. But at 2.5 years of age, any new bird would be a chick and possibly an annoyance. Always best closer in age. And then theres the expense. Another conure will run $350-$400 and thats beyond my control right now. Too many bills come first.
Plus Peepers loves to chat when I'm on the phone, thinking its
kittfur on the other side.
