KV Racing Technology had nearly 50(47, I believe is the total, but don't quote me on that) crashes over the course of the 2012 season. That's counting practice and qualifying crashes, of course.
Surprisingly, it wasn't as costly as one would expect nearly 50 wrecks to be since they apparently only wrote off two tubs in all those incidents. The most expensive parts they were consistently replacing were undertrays.

There will be one big change - no huge-ass airbox. Turbo engines have no need for it. The new cars will look a lot sleeker because of it, at the very least. Even if the rules are rather restrictive, we only need to look to current F1 to see how the same rules package -even a painfully restricted one- can produce drastically different-looking machinery.
As cool as that'd be... I'm not keen on having only 6-10 cars per race - Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes, Renault and MAYBE Red Bull are the only active teams who could afford that kind of competition.
In all honesty I wouldn't mind seeing Formula One hit a proverbial reset button like IMSA did in 1994 - go to some simpler cars(both in design and allowable tech) and then over time start reintroducing allowable modifications and technology.
Of course, IMSA was forced to do that by the FIA's douchebaggery over in Europe ultimately affecting them just as badly as the FIA hoped it would(though it didn't have the ultimate outcome they wanted, as it did in Europe). Formula One isn't exactly in desperate need of reinventing itself to prevent total collapse.
