Raised in a small farming community in the heartland, Jonathan Andrews originally began life as Aelius Kei on the planet Ar'ghon. With their whole civilization embroiled in civil war, and the planet on the brink of collapse, two Ar'ghonian parents of the house of Kei would send their son away to a safe world, disguised in the visage of the planet's natives and carrying within him a perfect map of the Ar'ghonian genome.

Aelius' ship would be discovered by Chris Andrews and his wife Linda Andrews who, despite the child's obviously alien origin, would raise him as though he were their own son away from prying eyes.

Raised as though he were an earthling, Jonathan would soon discover that he could do far more than what an earthling could ever hope to. Because of this, he would soon return to the ship that carried him to Earth, so that he could learn from what was left of his Ar'ghonian heritage. Finally undoing the nanite-based disguise placed upon him by his birth parents, and donning a suit of traditional Ar'ghonian armor bearing the mark of his family's heraldry, Jon would assume the title of Alpha; a protector of Earth and it's people.
