The fact he BROUGHT his father back should have been enough. Failure to pure resurrection is not his fault. No one knew how this was to happen. If anything that grouchy old corpse should be thankful his son was able to even PARTIALLY restore him. And for the cost he paid!
I had a friend when I was in the Army, Staff Sergeant Daniels. We were walking to the mechanics motor pool to finish working repairs on his truck while in Iraq
Heard a whistling noise (Very faint) walked forward it stopped, stepped back and heard it again. I grabbed him and threw him to the ground along with my self as the ground around us erupted from mortar explosions.
Daniels got nailed in the right leg and was forced to have it amputated.
He was grateful, because I heard the damned things. He didn't. And despite being medically discharged and crippled from it. He was alive.
His daughter...she was 14 when he got back. And she blamed me for his injuries
He died Six years later from an seizure caused by a thrombus (Roaming blood clot) she blamed me for that to. Said I was the reason.
I was supposed to be one of his pall bearers but, she refused to inform me of his death. I found out later from his wife calling me in a fury
His daughter didn't inform me, she went out of her way to block me from any knowledge because I was responsible for all of it.
So this one hits home a bit hard

I still speak with his wife, Denise. She was/is on my side, much like her late husband was.
If it wasn't me, he'd have been walking with another soldier and both could have been dead
My hearing thankfully is still keen. (Not as much as it used to be. I went deaf to 3 of the six subsonic tones I could hear)
And there's still our old unit, I speak with them on occasion. Hell, the doc and Chappy. Asked me to recreate the noise best as I could.
Y'know that soft "whoosh" a mortar firework makes when it goes up? Just add a tiny hiss because of the wings and it's close. Tested everyone in my unit
Only three of us could hear that thing past 50ft. Everyone else was deaf to it. After that Denise tested her daughter.
When Laura couldn't hear it past 25 ft. She sent her to counseling. I just hope she doesn't resent me for it and it helps her
