At the Local Library - An Author and His Book
Just wanted to share a little view of me and my debut fantasy novel, which, in addition to being now available in eBook and Paperback print-on-demand formats on Amazon, is now also available for check-out at my local library!
By itself, it's a small thing, sure, but a grand journey begins with a small step, no?
And on the subject of grand journeys...
The Saga of Fidonhaal: Daughters of the East is meant to be only one of numerous tales that account for events within the world of Fidonhaal. This world is inhabited by a race of creatures called the Fidons, and their appearance can be best described as resembling anthropomorphic wolves or similar canine creatures. It is also a world of mystical creatures, foul monsters, and magic from blessed and cursed sources, and is the site of many manifestations of the great war between divine goodness and demonic evil.

A Time of Hatred and Hope Looms…
In the world of Fidonhaal, the forces of Raakaru, the Hateful Heart, ever seek to undermine and ruin the people of the world. Fidonhaal’s history is laden with the triumphs and defeats of evil, and tales of the heroes, heroines, villains, and villainesses who have partaken in this great, ages-old conflict.
Now, however, the vulnerability of a broken heart has enabled an agent of the Hateful One to spread across the world a darkness never before known by the Fidons; a darkness that, even if initially defeated, could still linger long afterwards. Hope remains that the ones foreseen in ancient prophecy, known as the Daughters of the East, still may succeed in vanquishing this menace.
Sheeva Mivinaar, the queen of the eastern nation of Enmayar, has risen from the pains of her past to undertake the bettering of her country and the protection of her family.
Lerannu Stonefaith, the mage of Enmayar’s royal court, has endured tests of life and study to find herself at the side of the leaders of the East.
Mira Greenheart, a huntress from the forest village of Plen, has honed her skills in survival and the bow by walking beneath the boughs of the great Santaru Forest.
Ruth Pionaar, a knight of the Temple’s Faithguard, has risen from a humble birth to stand tall and mighty in arms against the foes of the faithful.
The fates of these four and those dear to them will determine the course of Fidonhaal in its war against the unholy treachery of Raakaru.

Heheh. XD
I do intend to do more with the world of Fidonhaal. I didn't put in all the effort that I did for that setting only to use it once! X3
If I can manage, I'll eventually put in a good deal more in time. I've been fiddling around with short stories for an anthology, and a little bit on what I feel will be the next "big book(s)." When exactly they'll be done, and what exactly will go down in those works, I presently can't/won't say. But know that there IS meant to be more on the way... eventually! XD

I figured as much. Are going to jump directly into writing another run for Fidonhaal/ other stories, or take a break? I need to get back with it on my stuff, but with everything I am doing to make my departure from Oregon to the Four Corner states, most of my time is devoted to the remodel of my travel trailer, packing and sorting, and work. It will be great to wake up in the morning with a different vista almost everyday to inspire my creative measure for writing!
That sounds like a neat moving/living arrangement, once everything gets in order! Funnily enough, my family and I are going through the motions of preparing to move as well, though the specifics are fairly different from yours. XD
As for your question as to whether I'm going right for the next thing or taking a break, I guess the answer for both is "yes," though, at present, perhaps a bit more on the "break" side. I'd say this is partly out of preoccupation with the above-mentioned impending relocation, but also because I'm trying to put some effort in toward getting Daughters of the East "out there" a bit more, as well as, admittedly, feeling a bit wiped out from the first book.
That being said, however, I *have* been working on things still, just not quite as "diligently" for the moment. XD

Interesting coincident of the moving. I may or may not have mentioned my moves purpose before, but I am going to roam around for a while exploring. I am going to prospect for gems and other precious minerals primarily, but I also love caves. There are a lot of those in Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. I have been a bicycle mechanic for 19 years and the truth be known, I am tired of the daily grind, phones, and fluorescent light being a constant in my life. Also, where I live in Oregon; the winters here are almost 7 months long and it rains a lot. The constant overcast grey is harder to deal with very year for myself. So, it is time to chase the endless summer and have a bunch of fun making videos of my exploits to send to people I know so they can share in the adventure.=)
