Idam encountered Thalis laying on the ground after her recently poor transfer into her new Synthbody. Seeing her suffering, felt to do the right thing by taking her back to his lab and beginning repairs. It was a long process with the help of Asteria for many days. Often he would work late into the night to look at Asteria's feathers on his desk for strength in thinking about her. Eventually, the repairs were complete and Thalis could begin her new life.
