Originally an Ar'ghonian like Alpha, the creature known as Genome is shrouded in mystery. Biologically, Genome possesses most of the abilities associated with Ar'ghonians, and even bears a genetic makeup very similar to Alpha's, but has been enhanced to the point where all abilities have been augmented, altered, or mutated. While incredibly intelligent, Genome has become maddened by the hundreds of years he has spent in the vacuum of space.

His sole desire is to die in battle, and it is for that purpose that he seeks out Alpha, the last Ar'ghonian. However, Genome's body has been so altered that he cannot remain dead; so long as a single cell of his body remains intact, he will regenerate and reconstitute himself, and his body will mend itself in such a way that he cannot be killed by the same method twice. It is this immortality that has driven him insane, as even the cold emptiness of space itself is not enough to kill him.
