To a dragon, servants are everything. And while a legendary dragon could have their choice of kobolds, lizardfolk, and other sycophantic scaled folk, they have chosen to reach a sliver of their power beyond their lair to choose you.
Perhaps you caught the attention of the dragon while you were attempting to steal some of its treasure and, amused by your audacity, it decided to make you its champion. Perhaps you are a long-lost descendant of the dragon who, as it begins to enter the evening of its life, seeks you out to grant you magic to fulfill its final destiny.
