story excerpt: Luck took a quick look around and confirmed that there were no other traps in the alcove, but just to be sure, she moved slowly and carefully up to the pedestal in the back of the small hidden room. On top of it sat a hexagonal cut orange gem; a Tigers-Eye Amber. The purple colored line that ran vertically up its center made it look almost as if it were watching her approach. The hairs on Luck's tail bristled as a familiar tingle ran up her spine to the base of her skull. The feeling was emanating from the gem itself. No doubt about it. There was a rune embedded in the jewel. It was definitely her target. Quickly she pulled the replacement gem from her satchel and replaced the one on the pedestal. "I wonder what's so special about you." she thought as she looked the gemstone over in her hands. "I can't believe it. The most valuable thing I've ever stolen, and it's not for me or 'Neki. What kind of joke is that?" she thought as she dropped the jewel into her satchel and prepared to leave. She slowly moved back toward the exit; careful to step over the tripwire and listened intently through the painting. Bartholomew was still snoring away. She exited the alcove and entered the black lions' bedroom again quickly.
