Chapter 2 - Getting Settled In

Flopsy makes a friend! It's good, a friend is going to go a long way to being able to survive in a place like this. She's still not sold on this "Magic doesn't exist here" thing, especially in a city of endless wonders like this one. Ben, meanwhile, is still trying to figure out his strange guest. Sure, he could have chosen not to help so much, but... When would he ever get a chance to find out more about her, if he let her leave? Either way, a lot of introducing each other to new ideas. Flopsy even gets her first "phone"!

While it takes place in the same Earth/Terra setting as Princess, these are probably different... timelines? I haven't fully decided if events in one will happen in the other, or if there will be any sort of crossover possibilities. I don't plan for it to be required to read Princess to understand what's going on here, either. Of course, not everything will make sense right away, especially to poor Flopsy. As always, I welcome comments and questions, and will do my best to answer without giving spoilers. ^_^
(What's it take to get Hoofbun added to the species list? Just gotta get a lot of people willing to make their own, I suppose?)

I've had the form for a while now, but I didn't really have any kind of backstory/ability/ideas for it, just something I was having fun with. I was actually planning out a Metroidvania with Flopsy as the main character, but with my health condition and my lack of art/music skill, I figured I'd never be able to actually make it. So I reused a lot of the ideas and it ended up taking the shape of a superhero story. ^_^;;
Some of the abilities she has are lifted pretty directly, while some shifted. She would've gained strength upgrades at points, as well as abilities like a ground pound stomp move, and the gryphon feather was going to be gained from a boss to be used to craft a mid-air jump upgrade. The "increased traction" part of her horseshoes would also be upgraded to allow walljumps, but without her Master, she can't really upgrade her shoes or collar. ^_^;;

Why wouldn't she be matter-of-fact? It's what she's always been! Why would anyone think she's a person, when she's clearly more on the lines of a plowhorse, or the plow itself? Equipment created to do work, to serve people, and make their lives easier, just like any other Construct. The only difference is she's made of living flesh, and she's smarter than a pile of animated rocks.
And really, is she wrong about the cell phone having runes in it? How else could you explain a circuit board to her? ^_~
(As for coming across a magic creature, maybe during the next bout of Chaos Storms, when the interdimensional barriers start breaking down and tearing, and realities start leaking...)
