You know, despite the fact that the contract was more of a formality to keep Frederick from screwing any other woman that wasn't the heir to Rackenroon and Songween has been consistently trying to get Kruger and Kathy to do it regardless since roughly the beginning. This is as consistent as these hyenas' sense of “honor”.
I get the security measure, but I’m pretty sure Kalua poisoning Kathy wouldn’t do anything good on her own part businesswise.

After I had her telling Jade that she'd spiked the chocolate, I realized that Kathy's bodyguards would be poor creatures indeed if they let that get through to the Heir. And a friend of mine had complained that I never show the bodyguards foiling assassination attempts. So there we are.
Or its perhaps a reason as mundane as Songween feeling that she might keel over any moment and wants to get it out of the way before that happens ?
