Personally, I don't like the word 'queer'. It bugs me ._.

It bothers me too, actually. Well not the word, but using it as a gender identity and/or sexual orientation.

"Queer" means strange or weird. I'd like to think that my sexuality is neither of those things; it just is what it is.

That is DEFINITELY true. It'd be prejudice in a sense to purposely call a sexuality "strange".

There's an actor I love who came out as liking men but says he identifies as queer because he's okay with women sometimes, too.

Last I checked that...that was bisexual or homoflexible, depending on how much he leans. But I love him so alas.

It's a made up gender. It also promotes gender roles and gender stereotypes. The people who label themselves "bigender" are doing so because they do things "boys do" along with things "girls do". When, fun fact, men and women can both do whatever the Hell they want.

Actually, that is all wrong. People that identify as bigender aren't some made up gender. A female bigender person knows they are female and some days, they feel like a female and in turn would dress and act more fem with what they are feeling. That same female will sometimes, but not at the same time, feel like a male, physically. Its almost like a phantom limb and would feel like then need to dress and act more mas due to this feeling. When I say phantom limb its a feeling that a penis should be there even though there isn't. In a lot of cases female bigenders will get a prostetic for when they get these feelings.

Gender Queer is a general term that could be uses for something as minor as a tomboy or something as major as a transsexual. Is a catch all term for those that don't follow the gender norms that society has placed.

They are a made up gender. The human species has 2 sexes and 2 genders. There ARE animals that have more than one gender (but still male/female and a combination are the only sexes out there). For example the white-throated swallow has 2 female genders and 2 male genders. They are different genders because there are two colour patterns for the females and two for the males, along with their colouration literally being different, their behavior is changed by this as well. Some deer have 1 female gender but 2 males (which is determined in which kind of horns they have I believe). As for humans we come in a lot of colours with many tweaked things like eye shape, typical height, etc, depending on ethnicity, but this along with our biological sex do not determine anything about our personality or behavior. A man who's of African descent could have the same exact personality of a woman of Asian descent. :) So due to that humans just have a gender to match each sex.

As for bigender, they don't realize anyone and practically everyone feels more masculine some days, and more feminine other days. It's not a special gender.

Gender queer is an umbrella term, yes. But it promotes massive stereotypes. It's saying that you're weird because you don't act like how your gender is "supposed" to. I know transmen. Some are masculine, some are feminine. The feminine ones are no less men because they act feminine and are biologically one. I AM a tomboy and I get offended being considered anything but a cisgendered female. I'm not genderqueer, thank you very much. I wear what I like and do what I like, but I am still perfectly comfortable in this body.

Not everyone that is a tomboy HAS to identify as gender queer. It depends on the person. Its a gender identity. If you feel comfortable being called tom boy then go ahead. Some people aren't and would rather be called Gender queer. Just like some Transsexuals would rather be called man or woman rather than Trans, its a term that can be used if one wishes to identify themselves as such. So what if it promotes stereotypes? I know black men and women that love koolaid, watermelon, and coconut shampoo, does that make them a stereotype? No, it makes them, them. Its who someone is. So if someone wants to identify as tomboy because they are a girl that acts, dresses, and/or feels more mas, then go ahead, but if someone would rather just say they are gender queer, then who are you to stop them?

So what about other species? Am I talking about other species? Genders are indefinite. Sexes not so much. In all actuality there are 3 sexes; Male, female, and intersexed. Gender on the other hand has many possibilities. Gender is a way to identify ones self. For those that identify as bigender its not them saying "screw you I want to make my own stuff up" Its them trying to identify what they are feeling. If they are female and in one of the times that they feel like they should physically be male, it would be the kinda like a FTM pre op. They are physically female but mentally they should be male. Yes with bigender it isn't as severe as to cause suicidal tendencies but it is something that bigendered people will feel the impulses to get their outer appearance to match their inner feelings.

Dismissing bigender and gender queer just because you don't like the terms or don't agree with it is ignorance. Its just like saying bisexual people are just whores because there is no way you can like both men and women. Just because you don't like it or don't understand it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist and doesn't mean you should stomp all over it.

Um a transsexual should be called man or woman, since trans is insulting and pulls away from them really being a man or a woman now.

No we're talking about humans in which case, throw your argument out the window because humans ONLY have two genders. Intersex is made up of male and female and isn't a true sex, it's not how one is supposed to come out. Animals that are hermaphrodites are supposed to be that way, intersexuality is a chromosome (among other things) fuck up. Regardless, intersexuality is made up of male and female. Two. <--- 2.
