Conceptual artwork for my last drawing class ever. (FINALLY!) I painted him and took him to school as my art project!
Came from two different directions on this. Cave painting and the heritage of great danes.
Back to cave painting because its the earliest art known to man, and everything since then has evolved from there.
And This side in particular features wild boars because danes were originally bred to hunt them, and NOT to be people friendly, but fast, aggressive and strong to take on these animals.
When it was later realized that a dog of this size would make a good watch dog, steps were taken towards making them more people friendly, and the breed as we know it today was developed in germany!
