I loved the new hunter for his epic voice acting and of course his amazing form and animation. But I miss the comic relief of the original Hunter in the older spyro games.

yeah, the new hunter gets too little face time and the old one got too much :P
but hey, at least hunter now looks less like a weird cat and more like an epic cheata

agreed. I think that some parts of the game were just plain too drawn out and also just a little corny.
