You know, the ibizon is rumored to be the dog species that dates all the way back to the ancient egyptian times and to have been the examples for their artists to draw jackals and Anubis. back in those days the ibizon were rumored to more commonly be black and a very common housepet in egypt.

i wish i had one ^^ even moreso a black one, but the black ones dont exist anymore.

They weren't black. They were painted black in the art because black was a rare color and used for royalty ;) I've owned the breed since 1996 and have a new pup coming home mid Jan :3

i always thought gold was royalty, blue was divinity, and black was death, since i dont recall it being used on any other hieroglyphs than anubis ones.

Oh lord Ibizans O.O I recently talked about them with my gf .. we really want one .. and we had some ideas on trying to breed some black fur into them

I don't know as much as I'd like, but Egyptology is fascinating to me. Has been ever since I get into Ibizans back in '96

I'm stuck on Ibizan hounds, ever since I first met Kur and his hounds, and this is definately representative of that side of him. I never really 'got' how one can have many fursonas, but Kur is a very unique fur, in that there are many facets to him that I can see in his fursonas. This one nails his beezer side. Awesome stuff!!
