Today during the visit of the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice I discovered this awesome painting by Zuccarelli (1702 - 1788) telling us about the seducing of Europa being taken to the island of Kreta.
That horny greek godfather fell in love with her and afraid of being caught by his jealous wife Hera, transformed himself into a big handsome bull, then mingled into a nearby cattle herd to catch her attention.
Afterwords he could convince Europe (who loved that tame bull) to sit on his strong back and swam to his secret island.
And the rest is history !
Deers, this is not the complete painting, i just present you the most important scene; and don’t ask me what’s this little angel doing with the billy goat.

But I love the presentation of Zeus in bovine form; big and white with a cheeky face.
