''Runedig Town'' by Lay
A fairly detailed pencil design of a made-up Pokémon town that could be used for a new region. So far I only recreated existing Pokémon locations, like Kanto's Cinnabar Island or Johto's Ecruteak City. But this one is completely original. Every town, and to an extend city, in Pokémon has a specific theme going on -- a great example would be Fortree City in the Hoenn region. This town's theme is ''Ancient Forest Ruins''. As it turns out, I took quite some inspiration from Fortree City, but I mostly used original ideas.
O--O--O Town Description O--O--O
[RUNEDIG TOWN -- ''Where Ruined Fields Are Naturally Restored'']
-- There's a modern PokéCenter, with a logo above it that would be an azure blue if I were to draw it in color (that is because I drew inspiration from Pokémon GO's ''PokéStops''); a big tree with one of the houses built into it, similar to the Fortree example I just mentioned; and there are two poles on each side of the path leading up to the ladder of the tree house. These poles are asymmetrically broken off, which is a part of some catastrophic event that took place long ago, which is a trope many existing Pokémon towns and cities have -- a relic of an old castle or other important building that is still standing and in modern days serves as either a tourist site, or as an observation point for researchers. Speaking about ruins and research -- the biggest attraction of this town is actually the ruins, consisting of a giant statue that has the added function of acting like a secret entrance to the Runedig Ruins: a dark, sprawling maze with torches hung up everywhere. It is the favorite hangout spot for Ground, Ghost, and a handful of Dark and Poison type Pokémon. Right next to the ruins are some benches dotted around for the residents or passersby to rest a bit before continuing their journey. This town could also be the potential place to resurrect any Fossil Pokémon, like you can in Kanto and Hoenn for example. That would be the house in the middle right of the town, just below the Runedig Ruins. Although the floor is made of mostly light-brown dirt, seeing as this town's theme is ''Ancient Forest Ruins'', there actually is quite a lot of green to spot around here, because of all the trees that grow in and around this otherwise arid place.
