so decided to do a new species i call the Taemoor, and heres a lore blurb for em
Biology:
The Taemoor are a species of reptiles that resemble humanoid Theropods standing at around 7 and a half feet tall, and are strikingly similar to the Urvalet to which they are actually closely related. They share the same light blue bodies and light purple bellies with dark stripes running from their face to the tip of their tails. Unlike the Urvalet, Taemoor possess significant red feathering running from their heads to the tip of their tails. Much like Dromaeosaurs, Taemoor have a large toe claw on each foot which, if required, can be used for self defense.
Taemoor are an all female species who can both reproduce asexually and sexually in a fashion. In asexual reproduction, a pair of incomplete egg cells fuse together into a zygote, giving rise to offspring that are exact clones of their mother. When reproducing sexually, the method resembles that of birds with the transfer of modified egg cells from one individual to another occurring through both contacting their cloacae together and the incomplete cells being pumped across. An individual Taemoor can produce a clutch of 4 eggs regardless of reproduction method.
History:
The Taemoor were discovered by the Estav in ~XXXXX BC alongside the Urvalet to whom they were geographically isolated enough from to not be aware of each other’s existence. The Estav arrived in their star system only to witness that their homeworld was going to encounter a large planet in their system knocked off of its orbit and towards them due to a large rogue body having gravitationally jumbled up the system. With no way to stop the encounter the Estav quickly rushed to the planet's surface to rescue a considerable number of individuals and placed them in stasis for their safety and the safety of the ship's crew. After grabbing the two species the Estav decided that both species could potentially become dangerously competitive over resources if relocated to the same planet which could result in one of the 2 becoming extinct, and thus agreed to separate them for the benefit of their own survival. The Taemoor’s ship, unlike the Urvalet’s ship, did not reach its destination as it had to make a stop at a station in a system to obtain a number of supplies and while equipment was being moved the Estav vanished, leaving the Taemoor stuck in stasis for tens of millennia.
The Taemoor were discovered by the IOA (Interstellar Oversight Administration, the Sol System Administration's successor organization established in 2325) in 2335 onboard a derelict ship and station while an exploration vessel was charting various systems on the edge of their territory. After sending teams to investigate both, one of the teams would find the ship's cargo bay filled with roughly 230 pods, and after some debate they agreed to begin moving the pods to an internal cargo hold which had to be evacuated of most of its supplies. After they finished loading the pods and retrieved various hardware and samples from both the derelict ship and station, the exploration ship's crew sent a message of warning to a nearby outpost and left the system as quickly as possible. After arriving at the nearby outpost they began unloading the pods an accident occurred when the external power pack attached to the pod which originally was affixed to the floor of its parent derelict snagged on some wall equipment, causing a serious power fluctuation resulting in the pod's emergency protocol systems releasing its occupant, skipping past normal procedure in order to release the occupant as quick as possible. Understanding what was going on, the unloading team swiftly pulled the pod out of the docking tunnel and into a holding room. As the pod began to fully shut down, a crewmember was sent to fetch a stretcher, and when they returned to the group the pod's lid popped open to reveal the occupant. Quickly the Humans pulled her up and strapped her onto the stretcher as she began to awaken, which quickly led to her beginning to panic as her senses had not fully turned on. As she was being shuttled down the adjoining corridors in zero G, she began to feel increasingly queasy; her sense of orientation disrupted by being in freefall. As the group reached the nearest medical room she began to show signs of physical distress, so her stretcher was laid onto a bed and the gravity turned up to 10% standard. As soon as she was unstrapped, she kicked out and tumbled slowly and clumsily onto the floor, attempting to throw up to no avail. To prevent her from further possible injury, the Humans quickly administered an anesthetic, and as she was being lifted back onto the bed once more, she groggily hugged the Human holding her before falling asleep. A few hours later on she was once again awoken, though after only minutes of being awake, unfortunately attempted to throw up again, to no avail. A few weeks after the initial ordeal and alerting the IOA of the discovery, the exploration team would leave the outpost with the exception of an individual, who desired to stay behind to help look after the lone Taemoor who would adopt the name Mary Green. The exploration ship left, resupplied, to continue their mission mapping unexplored territory, leaving the outpost crew and remaining crewmember to open the rest of the pods after figuring out how to properly open them. Meanwhile, supplies were being shipped in for an expansion to the outpost to house its newest temporary inhabitants with large habitats being constructed. After supplies arrived and an expansion was quickly set up for the Taemoor, each pod was opened one at a time to mitigate the number of possible medical incidents that could occur if one suffered from a fright attack as their senses recovered, and official integration would occur as the Outpost crew began to teach them some language and life skills over the course of two years.
For the two years the small Taemoor population stayed at the outpost, their population would quickly double in size, making the outpost crew reconsider if life on a station was appropriate for them and would contact officials at the IOA about setting up a plan to place the growing Taemoor population into a proper colony zone and after a few weeks of deliberating and negotiations, it would be decided that the Taemoor would be settled onto a recently founded Trekaspaza and Polela Cooperative Colony.
Notes:
Do not dance with them in a building with thin walls.
