I'm not shocked. The animal kingdom is filled with vile and miserable outcomes that are common. Felines having sharp spines on their penises being another one of them.

Something being common in the animal kingdom doesn't make it right for our anthropomorphized depictions of them. Like, almost all sex in the animal kingdom is rape but to depict that in anthropomorphized characters is almost always a stand in for human situations in one form or another. (I'm talking actual rape not con-noncon which is a very human thing by default) An affinity for Incest is one of those things that tends to manifest due to unhealthy habits or trauma. (In humans.)
