Its always an interesting challenge to design a fantasy creature, trying to keep the design unique, but reflect the style and sensibilities of the setting.

Story Synopsis:

Princess Adalind is miserable. She's caught in an arranged marriage, kept apart from the woman she loves, and can't even study magic openly for fear of being branded a wicked enchantress. Amber is a kobold from a family that has dwelt on the Cornett family land for centuries. She and her identical twin brother, Jade, aren’t especially close to Lady Cornett, but they quickly befriended her wife, Francis, and remain close, even as Francis and Mathilde’s marriage fails. Amber thrives on chaos, and enjoys causing trouble.
