This paladin is a Phoenix worshiping the Prince of Rebirth. As per her holy doctrine, held within the Book of the Prince of Rebirth, she is to seek out corruption and torch it to ash, so the dusty remains may nourish new, more pure life. What is deemed corrupt is up to whoever wins the auction, and can be anything from disease to individuals.

As a phoenix, she is reborn from her ashes after every death, whether natural, unnatural, or magical. Through this power she has served the Prince of Rebirth for generations, even writing the holy book she uses now, though her memories become severely jumbled after every death, and as such she doesn't remember writing the great tome, only that she did.
