After being taught to make clones, Shen has made it a habit to use them to assist in his daily acts of crime. Since they’re made of shadows, like his mentor’s clones, they don’t look exactly like him, compared to Wukong’s or MK’s clones who do. But, he’s found that because he uses some of his electricity to make them as well, they’re far more durable and don’t poof as easily.
The two clones here are the ones he conjures most often, Dagger and Arrow (Dagger on left, Arrow on right). Since clones have their own personalities, Shen has learned that Dagger is the more calculated and quick-on-his-feet clone while Arrow is his more brash, loud mouthed side. Either way, there is bound to be chaos the second his shadow starts to shift.

In a small way, yes, it is somewhat more like a familiar since he has zero control over how his clones act. Though they’re all tethered to him and whatever his end goal is, they’ll (usually) help him achieve it, no matter how simple or complex.
But oooh yeah, plenty of arguments. Maybe less so when he’s with Dagger and Arrow, but sometimes he’ll summon a clone that really makes his job harder than it needs to be.
