That is correct!
Colonel Bristy Carol "Knife" Perreault (nee Campbell) is officially retiring!
I got the idea after my mom retired from her job at 62, she had many jobs in the past; and at the same time as I was setting up my own retirement account. Next year Bristy will be entering her 32nd year in the Marines (that's eight terms) at the age of 51 and it's about time she cashed in her military annuity. Besides, she lived a long successful career.
Bristy joined the Marine Corps by entering the NROTC program at Boston College, class of 1992 at age 22, and entered into the pilot program. She quickly became a fighter pilot, piloting the F/A-18C Hornet as well as being carrier qualified! In addition to her piloting skills, she enrolled in and eventually became a black-belt in MCMAP (Marine Corps Martial Arts Program) as well as being a weight-lifting body-builder! Eventually, she transferred to flying the Marine Corps' "jump jet" the AV-8B Harrier II, and eventually the F-35B Lightning II. She saw action and deployments in Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq (pre-9/11), and eventually Afghanistan in the Global War on Terror.
Bristy also has an accomplished personal life. She was home alone on her day off when her boyfriend (Ryan "Bat" Perreault) was out flying F-15's on September 11th, 2001. A year later in 2002, Ryan and Bristy married. 2003, Bristy gave birth to their first daughter, Cari Perreault, who is actively enrolled at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. 2006, she gave birth to a son named Josh. 2011, she gave birth to daughter Molly. Finally, in 2015, she gave birth to son Chris.
Today, with a husband, four children, and 30+ years in the USMC, Bristy has decided to officially retire.
