Project for my advanced 2D art class that I got back today! And wow.. the impossible has occurred.. my teacher gave me an A+ o.o .. that man is incredibly notorious for NEVER giving an A+. 95% AT BEST. You could put your heart and soul on paper, sign it in your blood and tears, work on it, learn so much, and really feel exited to show it, and all he will say is "ah.. that's nice.. bring out more definition on that line" -.- Ridiculous. Positive reinforcement does wonders you know.. But what a lovely surprise!
As for the assignment, we were instructed to do two medium-of-your-choice representational pieces of two of the seven deadly sins. I decided to do watercolor as its my absolute favorite traditional medium.. it just flows so naturally.
I did a caption on the back of each piece explaining the sins they represented and here is what this one said:
The lion represents pride, and to a lesser degree, sloth. In the Divine Comedy, the lion is one of the three animals that guards the entrance to hell, and each represents particular sins respectively. The lion represents sins of ambition and violence. In this case, the lion here thinks himself so important that he eclipses the sun as he lounges.
