I've got you. You haven't been fed up with meaningless, creepy and misleading teachers singing you childish songs and punishing your 'students' for asking questions, you haven't been turned into canned stew meant for force-feeding your friends, and you haven't been shown cringey and perverse clips of dreams by a talking lamp who wants to drown you in a vat of oil... You're all each in your favourite colours, you get to sleep with me and two of my best friends, you get to sleep on McCloud's fatherly and furry front, you get to have a say in what happens in your next show, and if you get uncomfortable, you can leave through the door to find a safe spot.
This is what happens when Red Guy dramatically pulls the massive plug after being touched on the shoulder by Roy. Some theories state that this is a metaphor for the trio being freed from Roy's alleged evil corporation, and some theories that this is the childhood of one generation of children brought down to another, but to me, this could be how the lives of the trio get reset in a way they wanted to live, not as some evil corporate god wanted them to. I agree it's quite wholesome, and when the new notebook starts to sing, it should sing a song about creativity (or whatevs) that doesn't lead to something that torments the trio and traumatises any existing audience.
