Part one on a series of commissions for Shrunkenone,

General info:
This here is Mirth's gaping maw. The entry of his throat consists of many folds and layers of flesh, and this allows it to open up to allow for larger mouthfuls to be swallowed whole. The rest of the way down is very smooth and slick, and so Mirth would often have to have gravity assist his food getting down. He can also dislocate his jaw if the food is too large, and the elastic stitching along the side of his mouth aids it in not stretching too far off, as the muscles connecting Mirth's top and bottom jaw are not very strong.

Not sure... Strega explained it here:

I highly recommend you give it a read.

I looked it up, many bones in the snakes skull is not attached to each other rigidly, and is held in shape by muscles, making the snakes jaw very flexible. Il take a read of Strega's information anyway.
I just edited out the snake bit in my description, as I still do like the idea of Mirths upper and lower jaw making a terrible cracking noise to open up wider.

I view it this way: There will always be people better than you and people worse than you. The fact that I can find this enjoyable to such a degree is very good. There's a ton of detail in the shot, and while there will always be room for improvement, it it still quite a pleasant piece.
Yes MAaaaaawwwssss. And yes, one day the rain fell and I popped up outta nowhere, or maybe it was a field of daisies...Hmmm.... that thought makes me question the meaning of my existence now.
And thank you very much! Yes actually I used your awesome shiz as reference to do the Taluthus picture.

Yes, When I looked around for references I found many other commissions by him by amazing artists, and I felt both flattered and frightened, because I felt he had high expectations of me. I am so glad it turned out okay.
And yes, you can.But the probability of surviving or getting back out is rather low, I must say.

Ooo, awesome POV.
I love the way you have the tongue laid out like a welcoming carpet, with the details to the inner mouth and gullet looking absolutely wonderful.
Of course drool is always a win, but the stitching through the lips beautifully enhances the horror that the maw presents.
I also love how all the teeth look distinct and individual, not all cookie-cutter perfect. Plus their setting into the gums is one of the more realistic representation of teeth I tend to see. Very well done. :D
Looking forward to the rest of this series.

The stitching was actually surprisingly difficult to do because of the perspective, even as i see it now it is not quite right, but oh well. And ah yes, Mirth's teeth are not perfect or all the same. I also can't thank you enough for your in depth comments, as I know that the little details I put into my work are not ignored and were worth the effort.
