Still playing with this. Logo needs work. Background needs some work too. Need to add her "You'll never take me alive" scream.
I don't know. I was really thinking of a nice 70s/80s Marvel-style cover design. I'll probably totally redesign the logo in that style and see what I can do with the colors to get a better "old comic" vibe.
All of this precedes the actual comic work, of course. Script for the first story is complete, looking forward to drawing it. But we'll just have to wait and see how this pans out.

I haven't decided if I want to go to that level or not. Its very hard to mimic that look without forcing it. I've tried to do it and it seems to be more time consuming to make it look like an old comic than it does to use all the glories of modern technology!
But its a good idea and I might do a mock up just for the fun of it.

It is ironic! But it makes sense I guess. The whole reason old comics look the way they do is because of the circumstances of their technology and the types of materials used to print. If Stan Lee had Photoshop in the 60s all issues of The Amazing Spider-Man would have digital lettering and colors.
I was just thinking that one way to get the "old comic" look would be to use scans of old comics as pallets. Using swatches of color from their pages to color new pages, laying the texture of a weathered comic page over a new page to give it the illusion of age.
That would be fun to do.
I've had this idea for years. To create a new comic but make it look as much as possible like it is 30 years old from some guy's closet box of junk. I've seen killer examples of this and I want to take a swing at it myself.
