I plan to take another crack at drawing the lumbering colossus Skjaldborg soon(ish), and in looking at my old work I decided to post this ancient relic of Skjaldborg sleeping. Drawing him is a unique situation where it would both be a portrait and a landscape image at the same time, lol. As the alpha dragon of Earth element(all solids fall into his domain), his scales are literal mountains- so his body is the size of an entire continent, which is why he moves so slow. Not only is he astronomically heavy- he is so huge he could crush an entire city under one foot, so he has to be extremely careful how he walks.

In the old stories, the four alpha elemental dragons were born of Tiamat. The greatmother wept for her children on finding that they do not share her immortality, and so she instead gifted hers to them. So the four prime dragons became everlasting- but Tiamat then aged and died as a cost. Three males and one female- the four great dragons created every other dragon in the world. The void created from their fallen greatmother however birthed the black dragon Nidhogg the devourer.
