A while ago, I took an art class. Long story short, I was required to draw in a sketchbook and the next few submissions will probably be excerpts from that sketchbook.
Funny story concerning this picture, a friend of mine belonged to the Game Stop magazine subscription, (I think it was Nintendo Power or something), and the magazine stopped being published. So, instead of refunding everybodies' money, Game Stop simply switched the subscriptions to a different magazine. Now, I want to remind everyone that you can't buy a magazine subscription from Game Stop unless you're 18, but I think we can all agree that a good percentage of those over-18-year-olds were parents buying for their young boys. Game Stop switched the subscription to Maxim. Imagie the nationwide impact for a moment and giggle with me. :}
Anyway, the September issue was Milla Jovovich and my friend knew how much I liked her, her movies, and how much I admired her as a person, (she's such a sweet girl, listen to the Resdient Evil: Apocolypse commentary if you don't believe me), and so he gave the issue to me as a gift.
I was running out of ideas for this sketchbook and suddenly, it came to me; what would Milla Jovovich look like as a dragon? For those of you who have that issue of Maxim, this pose should look familiar.
Enough people have already voiced their opinion on this picture to make me realize; I don't care what anybody else thinks. This picture took 4 days to completion and I quite like the results, even if a few things are out of place. Yes, I'm still coloring with colored pencils. Not everyone can a) afford Photoshop or b) figure out Glyph, or whatever the free photoshop is called. I tried for 2 months to figure that program out and all it did was frustrate the living poo-monkies out of me and stage a hostile take-over of my computer. Besides, I rather like the two-toned affect one can get using colored pencils. Now, if only I could figure out shading, I'd be set.
