The Triassic cuddle is a 225 million year old fossil of a Thrinaxodon and a Broomistega cuddled together within a burrow. It’s theorized that the two were trapped together and drowned due to a flash flood.
While nobody knows why a carnivorous mammal and the smaller amphibian were together, some thoughts that the Thrinaxadon was sleeping when the Broomistega came in for safety, but others wonder if maybe the two had some sort of symbiotic relationship.
