I did not realize until seeing it on The Daily Cartoonist --- https://www.dailycartoonist.com/ind.....ars-with-pogo/ --- that the 8th of September was Pogo's birthday! At least, it was the 8th of September, 1942, when the first story with Pogo in it --- Albert Takes The Cake --- appeared in Animal Comics #1. So I did a quick sketch of Pogo's first appearance, noticing that it's his birthday. You can read the original story online at https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=16740 starting on page 3.

CW for the story: the hero is a Black kid named Bumbazine, a person created by a white guy who was born in 1913 and raised in Connecticut imagining what a Deep South kid might act and talk like.
