Reality is hitting everyone like a bus, and additionally with the surprise the lion are preparing lets see what happens when things reach the breaking point!
Absolutely loving the story, I'm always refreshing the site page in the mornings just waiting for the comic strip who lives rent free in this head!

Either "Frankie and Johnny" played on a "dirty" saxophone, or a slowed-down version of "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down" played on a "dirty" saxophone.

What do I mean by "dirty" saxophone? Think "The Stripper."

I mean in the style of The Stripper. The sounds aren't clean horn toodles, they're sort of rough-sounding and raunchy.

I'm not a musician, so I don't know the correct terms for it.

oh. well that's because it isn't a saxophone.
that being said... the baritone saxophone has a signifiant virato. but the shifting notes really are a trombone thing.

It's similar to the difference between a concert piano and a honky-tonk piano.

Most of the instructors on YouTube teaching how to create it, call it a "growl", though some termed it a "dirty" sax.
Likely because you literally have to growl in your throat as you play the note to make it sound that way. *grin*

Though it can be done with an expression pedal, that's the exception.
