What does this mean?
We want to see your own ideas for a super hero / villain encounter! This means we are asking you to draw any hero / villain scene featuring classic comic book style heroes but in your own way. You can draw characters inspired from classic heroes but we ask that you use your own original characters even if in costume.

Can I draw classic characters like Batman or Poison Ivy?
We would encourage you to draw your own original characters in this setting. And while we will not disallow batman outfits or costumes we do ask that your own characters be the one in them. We do ask that you not draw Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent. Pretend you’re trying to insinuate a character when drawing them without getting sued by DC comics, if you must.

Does it matter what kind of hypno I add to the pic?
You can literally go for it! Draw any kind of hypnosis you can think of! We are going to be judging part of this contest based on how well you incorporate hypnosis into your theme, and how creative you can be! There are no limits or regulations as long as you make it work!

But what if there is a super sexy villain(ess) I wanna draw like Hypnotia?
Like we said before, you CAN draw your characters in place of these others even using the same costumes and powers if you want, but we ask that you try to use original characters or at least furry versions of them.

What if I want to make up something completely new?
We actually prefer that! Drawing your own original works will help your scoring and increase your chances of winning as creativity will be a factor.

What should I draw?
If you need direction just look at old heroes, find one that’s secluded or not as popular, and take it from there. There is no limit to inspirations you can draw from, goodness knows how many hypnosis based comics and episodes there are in the hero villain universe! Take your pick, draw inspiration, and go for it!

Does it have to be furry?
Absolutely not! And although we are a furry community our goal in general is to "Further Hypnosis" as in the love for it and the saturation of it in media and art! We are encouraging all kinds from humans, robots, feral, furry, or anything you'd like! We will not be picky or biased towards one category or another. Feel free to pick your favorite theme and choose your species! But Let me remind you, we will be judging on creativity and would rather see your OWN ORIGINAL CHARACTERS in these works even if they’re wearing a popular costume.

Can I submit something I've already drawn?
We are going to ask for new submissions only. The purpose of this contest is to introduce new works and new ideas into the community so as part of the rules we are going to ask that you create a new and original piece that has not been posted anywhere previously. As for current WIPs (Works in Progress) that you have lying around and want to finish for the contest we will keep the same ruling. As long as it has not been uploaded previously, we will allow it, but if we've seen it before it may hurt your chances.

What if I don't have a Fur Affinity account?
We will be accepting submissions mostly through Fur Affinity but if you do not have a Fur Affinity account and have a profile on another website such as Deviant Art, Inkbunny, Twitter, or etc. we will be accepting submissions from those sites as well. We do ask that if you do have a Fur Affinity account to please use this first as it will make it easier on us during sorting and judging. If you do want to sign up without a Fur Affinity account please send an email to furtherhypnosis[at]gmail.com with the header "2022 Contest Sign Up" while putting your profile link and user name in the body. We will reply shortly with a confirmation.

What counts as hypnosis?
Anything involving any form of mind control, hypnosis, trance, even some sleep walking! As long as a person's mind is affected somehow it counts. This could be through tech control, eyes, collars, music, whatever works! Although body control isn't something we are going to be particularly looking for as this is a mind control themed contest. Try something new, try something original and show us what you got.

But if I think other artists are better than me how can I win?
Not only have we increased the number of winners this year but creativity will be the largest factor. We want to see your mind, your ideas, we want to see how much fun you can have with this theme and take it running! We look forward to all your works.

Should it be SFW or NSFW?
Well we are a NSFW hypno group so feel free to do either! Making your illustration a NSFW or SFW piece will not hurt your chances at all! We are completely open if you want to do an NSFW or SFW piece.

Is this 3D artwork allowed?
Firstly we love 3D works of art, but, unfortunately it would just be too difficult to regulate. Since we ask for new and original works it would be unfair to traditional artists (we feel) for someone to use pre rendered 3D models, pose them with other 3D elements and have a picture. We would have a difficult time judging line work, skill, and authenticity. So for this contest we are going to say that 3D artwork and renderings will not be a part of this competition.

This is a comic contest, can I do a comic or comic page?
While this is a comic themed contest, we are looking for illustrations only. You can put chat bubbles or things like that and graphics into the illustration but to keep it fair and manageable for everyone we are going to be excluding full comics from this contest.

Rules
• Only one entry may be submitted per person
• The entry MUST contain hypnosis, mind control, or trance of some kind or it will not be considered for entry
• The entry submitted must be an illustration or pinup (no comics, full animations, or story works)
• Entry must be a new original piece of art not previously uploaded anywhere.
• Participants are asked to sign up and let us know about your entry before hand, but you have until the deadline to enter/submit your entry.
• Entry can feature either furry or non-furry characters
• Text is allowed in the picture but any attaching stories or paragraphs to the picture will not be considered as part of the art piece, it must be able to tell it’s own story without any aid from literature. You may add a story for your own benefits but the story will not be considered as part of your score.
• Only bare minimal animation is allowed in order to be fair to those without the means to animate. This means you may animate things like eyes or a swinging watch, smaller items, but the full picture cannot be animated.
• Highlights and Closeups will be allowed in your entry, such as a separate point of view in the corner(s) but multi panel comics are not allowed.
• The entry must include elements featuring super heroes and / or villains.
• No photo manipulations. This means if your work has no original art and is just cut pieces from screenshots it will not be allowed to enter the contest.
• No extreme mess/gore/cub fetishes, keeping in line with FurAffinity’s rules and policies.
• No using judges OC’s as it will be considered pandering and disqualify your entry.

HOW TO SIGN-UP
In order to keep track of who is interested and who will be providing artwork
for this contest please send a note to our group through our Fur affinity Profile page
with the header "Contest Entry: (insert name here)" to let us know about your entry.

How to Submit an Entry
Once you have read the guidelines for entry and have finished your illustration please follow these steps.
1. Submit your entry to Fur Affinity putting this “Entry into the 2022 :[icon]furtherhypnosis: Stupor Heroes (And Villains) art contest” (remove the brackets "[ ]" from the word "icon") somewhere in the description below. If you do not have a Fur Affinity account you may upload your submission to another website with similar instructions and please link our FA profile in the description below.
2. Email your submission link to furtherhypnosis[at]gmail.com with the subject title “Contest Entry: (insert username)” along with a brief description of your piece
3. You will receive a response confirming that we have received your submission. If you have not received a reply within one week of your entry please email us again with the header “Awaiting reply” explaining yourself and entry.
4. The deadline for all entries is 11:59pm November 30th, 2022 Central Standard Time. If you submit your entry after this date it will not be allowed entry.
5. The winners of the contest will be decided by December 12th and the artwork of the winners will be posted into the Furaffinity gallery of Further Hypnosis once the winners have been decided.

How Judging will be Decided

Skill: The quality of the overall picture. This will include the foreground, background, how messy the lines are vs the style of the pic. Remember not every picture is the same, and some people like using artistic or “messy” styles in their work. We can’t judge every picture on the same art style, that being said you need to look out for lazy works, sloppy lines, and lack of detail. This portion of the contest will be judging on artistic skill and ability alone.

Creativity: This will be highly considered in the scoring of your piece. There are so many heroes, villains, and all of it featuring mind control out there, we’d love to see what you can come up with! And while hypno rays and mind control helmets will not be disallowed, we just would love to see what else you can come up with or in what new and exciting ways you can re-spin old cliches! The more original the characters are, the setting is, and the mind control, the higher your score will be!

Hero/Villain Inclusion: How obvious is it that your characters are heroes, villains? In a battle? Trying to save the day? Take over the world? Show us a story with your picture and paint who your characters are without using words. We want to see how dynamic you can be with your art!

- Please do not harass the judges as any badgering or complaining will lead to disqualification.
- Please do not try to ask judges for their opinions on your sketches and WIPs. We cannot help you with your pic and shouldn't see it until it's done.

The panel of judges will pick the pictures they feel meets the above listed criteria the best in order to choose a winner. We are not liable if you feel our choices made in error or disagree with them. Prizes will be awarded to said winners in the times listed in this document. This is a non-profit group and prizes are paid from out of our group’s own pockets. We are funding this without any financial compensation expected in return. We have the right to deny any entry if we feel it does not meet criteria or does not follow the rules listed above. It is our judgement what will be considered breaking the rules and what will qualify. We may extend grace periods or leniency within reason as this is for all for fun and enjoyment. Please make sure you understand the rules correctly before submitting your piece for the contest.
